We are currently seeking a qualified Business Intelligence Specialist to join the newly established Business Intelligence Team. The candidate should be a technical-minded team player with strong interpersonal skills since the role involves substantial contact with both clients and business partners. The position is located at the International Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, so the candidate would be required to be based out of this location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position has two primary duties: to provide training and support to new and existing clients and strategic partners and to create and modify custom BI solutions for existing clients.

The Business Intelligence Specialist with be responsible for researching, proposing, and implementing customized business intelligence solutions for our end users by using our proprietary software. Due to the nature of the position, applicants will be required to have some prior knowledge of business intelligence and data warehousing structures, concepts, and general methodologies.

With regard to providing training and support, the Specialist would communicate and build strong relationships with client and business partners throughout the pre- and post-sales process. This will involve providing some entry level training for the clients and partners on how to use the software to create analytical solutions that are in line with their individual organization’s requirements. In addition, customized advanced training will often be provided to clients following the initial training program. Training will often be web-based but some travel will be required when a client or partner requests onsite training at their location. Travel will generally be limited to locations throughout North America.

Qualifications:

  • History of providing excellent customer service, both written and verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong desire to learn about technical concepts with regard to how they will be applied in a real-world business environment
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Knowledge of the timeXtender product is strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated
  • Due to the nature of the role, a strong understanding of databases, data warehouses, and business intelligence concepts and structures is required
  • General knowledge of basic accounting principles is preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, MIS, or Computer Science is required
  • Past experience in business analysis, report writing, or database management is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Navision and/or Great Plains ERP systems is a strong bonus
  • Background in accounting is preferred
